We are changing the world, one cup of coffee at a time.
I opened “Maeve’s Place” for one reason, my daughter Maeve, who has Down Syndrome. I had to ask myself the question, “what will you do when the school bus stops coming?” The answer was to open a coffee shop. I wanted to give my daughter an opportunity to become the best version of herself and to create a safe environment where she could learn. Now our dream is to provide employment opportunities and/or a place for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to hang out.
Building on the success of our Maeve’s Place Coffee Shop in Pine Hill, we’re happy to announce the creation of a second Maeve’s Place location in Phoenicia.
Coming to the Phoenicia Plaza on Rt. 28 in the spring of 2020, the new shop will offer the same great coffees and teas, baked goods, gift items, and specialty food items to eat in or take out. But our second location, with a much bigger footprint than the Pine Hill site, will allow us to expand the menu and inventory to add new specialty items like charcuterie boards and cheeses, European open-faced sandwiches, French pastries and more.
The new shop will be open daily for breakfast and lunch. Maeve’s Place in Phoenicia will serve up the best coffee and food around and will create jobs and wealth with and for developmentally and learning disabled people.
